Yesterday the Horizon crew attempted to come to work on the entry, but were turned back by the Sheriff Deputy protecting our neighborhood from looters. We had been evacuated Saturday as new flames from the "Station Fire" were threatening our house. Even though we had returned early Sunday morning to our house there were many residents still away. And the smoke was almost unbearable.
But this morning I walked down to the end of the drive and saw that no Sheriff was stationed at La Canada and Journey's End today. And at 6:40am Eladio arrived from his home in Puente Hills ready to work. By 7am the entire crew was busy mixing mortar, selecting out rocks for the new garden wall, laying conduit and beginning the large rock columns.
